As the old idiom goes, "All that glitters is not gold," and we agree. If it shines with a particular radiance, it might just be the BMW 760Li Sterling.

That's not a riff on the reputation of the Bavarian automaker's high end 760Li, which as some might tell you, has a pretty sterling reputation with drivers. We're talking about a project that was recently undertaken between BMW's Individual Manufaktur branch and Robbe & Berking, a company that specializes in silver table utensils.

Together, they've brought us an impressive one-off variant of the 7 Series car with many of its exterior design accents and interior furnishings fashioned with sterling.

Among the outer touches is some silver plating on the car's signature double-kidney grille, some parts of the trunk lid, and also the exhaust pipe. The silvery mark is also present on the BMW signature emblem on the hood, as well.

Although some might hope that the engine, too, will take on some of these radiant components, it unfortunately will not. That doesn't mean it won't offer top notch performance. The 760Li Sterling houses a powerful twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 engine. With 535 horsepower and 550 lb.-ft of torque, the car boasts the kind of growl that definitely fits in with the 7 Series reputation.

While we won't be getting the 760Li Sterling here at BMW of Anchorage, the 7 Series is still an impressive ride. Want to try it out for yourself? Drop by our showroom in Anchorage, AK, and see what the 760Li, 750Li and 740Li have to offer you on a test drive.
