As much as we're enjoying fall and looking forward to winter, summer was awfully kind of us here at BMW of Anchorage. After all, when the weather's right and the sun is out, you really can't beat a good old-fashioned test drive behind the wheel of a 2013 BMW Z4 Convertible. But alas, the time has come to put up the hoods and let these topless four-wheelers hibernate until spring.

And now that we've caught a first glimpse of the 2014 BMW 4-Series Convertible, spring can't get here fast enough.

Essentially a drop-top variation of the upcoming 2014 BMW 4-Series Coupe, it should go without saying that there's already a lot to like. In terms of powertrain, the convertible will come standard with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that ought to deliver 240 horsepower and 255 lb.-ft. of torque. Not only that, but it will be outfitted with a three-piece folding hardtop complete with added sound deadening for an even quieter drive. Folding the roof takes only 20 seconds, and if it gets too cold behind the wheel, you'll be awfully happy to have those three-temperature neck warmers in the front seats.

As far as options go, you've got your choice of three different trim levels, rear- or all-wheel drive and even the BMW 435i Convertible for a little extra oomph.

If you'd like to see it in the metal, then you better get your ticket to the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. Or if you'd like to take it for a spin, then you'll have to wait for it to roll onto our lot in the first quarter of next year.

Until then, feel free to tide yourself over with a test drive in one of the many fabulous models at our dealership here in Anchorage, AK. Trust us, it helps.
