While the BMW lineup does offer a stunning collection of available options to drivers in Anchorage, none of them are quite like this newest kid to join the family.
Released this week at the 2016 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the new BMW M2 may take design cues from its past siblings--like the 1 Series M coupe and the more recent BMW M 235i--but it brings a whole personality that is distinctly its own. The curving and windswept body work invoke images of an aggressive sea breeze. But the engine roar reminds you that this thing is all performance.
Under the hood you'll find a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine, that will offer up a tasty 365 horsepower and 343 pound-feet of torque. Paired with the available automatic, the BMW M2 boasts a 0 - 60 sprint of 4.2 seconds--choose the standard manual transmission, and you'll still see a breathtakingly fast time of 4.4 seconds.
Check it out.
