BMW recently revealed that sales for January 2017 increased over January 2016, with total vehicle sales amounting to 18,109. BMW credits the successful month to stellar SUV and Certified Pre-Owned vehicle sales, as U.S. shoppers continued to choose these models over passenger cars.

BMW X1 jumped 21.4 percent, sales of the X5 gained 26.8 percent, and the BMW X3 increased sales by a remarkable 57.5 percent. The BMW Certified Pre-Owned program set a January sales record of 18,219 vehicles sold, gaining 24.2 percent iover January 2016 sales.

In a release, Ludwig Willisch, President and CEO, BMW of North America, stated, "The increased availability of the highly popular BMW X models is paying off as our X model U.S. sales in January topped the all-important 50 percent mark for the second month in a row. Now, with February here, we are very much looking forward to the launch of our brilliant next generation 5 Series, only two weeks away.”
