If you get energy from the Chugach Electric Association, you can save on your electric bill if you're charging your EV. You can claim up to two chargers at your residence, and the Chugach Electric Association will offer you a $200 bill credit per charger. If you're an Alaska Power and Telephone customer, they offer a one-time $1,000 bonus if you purchase an EV with a 14-kilowatt battery. Alaska Electric Light & Power customers can take advantage of a discounted time-of-use rate with EVs that run off a 16-kilowatt battery.
Federal Benefits
Electric vehicles qualify for federal discounts. If you make a maximum of $300,000 per household or $150,000 per individual, you can qualify for a $7,500 tax credit. The date of production and the battery used will impact your BMW's eligibility. But rest assured: if your BMW model was recently produced in the USA, you're sure to receive this discount.
