Since we're already on a roll when it comes to big debuts from of our favorite automaker, we here at BMW of Anchorage thought we'd keep this gravy train rolling right along. Because now that we're just a few months away from the 2014 North American International Auto Show, BMW is giving us a lot to get excited about.
In case you haven't heard, the BMW 2-Series will be making its way to our dealership next year as a spiritual successor of sorts to the BMW 1-Series. Given how much we love the latter, the former had a lot to live up to. But now that BMW has pulled back the curtain on the latest offerings from their newest lineup, something tells us we won't be disappointed.
First up, there's the BMW M235i and its 3.0-liter turbo inline six engine that generates up to 322 horsepower and 332 lb.-ft. of torque. Then there's the BMW 228i that will deliver 240 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque thanks to its 2.0-liter turbo four engine. The former can go from zero to 60mph in five seconds flat while the latter can get you there in 5.4. Either way, you can't go wrong.
Both coupes will come with manual gearboxes and will be slightly longer and wider than what we're used to from the styling of the 1-Series. As for when we can expect to drive them, your guess is as good as ours.
So until we hear more from their big unveilings in Detroit next year, feel free to gain a base of comparison with the BMW 1-Series at our dealership here in Anchorage, AK. Just remember, folks: change is good.
